Angela Brown holds a B.S. in Accounting and Business Education from Virginia Tech and an M.A. in Educational Media/Instructional Technology with a concentration in New Media and Global Education from Appalachian State University.
She has worked in higher education since 2009, teaching workforce education and organizational leadership courses focused on career management, personal money management, internships, and business communication. Angela currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Media, Career Studies & Leadership Development and the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program within the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University.
With a passion for financial literacy and career development, Angela is committed to using holistic teaching methods to help students build lifelong skills in leadership, financial well-being, and professional growth. She feels deeply grateful to be part of the App State community, where she supports student success both inside and outside the classroom.
Angela serves as the course coordinator for the university’s QM-certified personal money management courses and maintains her NCDA Facilitating Career Development certification, along with a Virginia teaching license in Career and Technical Education and PreK–3.
Outside of her professional work, Angela enjoys engaging with her community, gardening, reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
